Zayed International Foundation for the Environment hosts Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda in UAE at Dubai Police Academy
The Zayed International Foundation for the Environment has explored areas of mutual collaboration and partnership opportunities in the field of environment and sustainable development with a high-level delegation from the Republic of Rwanda.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Bin Fahad, Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment welcomed H.E. Emmanuel Hategeka, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda in UAE, and Edouard Bizumuremyi, Minister Counsellor, at the Dubai Police Academy on February 28, 2022.
Members of the Higher Committee of the Zayed Foundation, Ali Ahmed Al Najjar and Dr. Hamdan Khalifa Al Shaer, were also present during the official visit.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Bin Fahad briefed the visiting delegation on the activities of the Zayed Foundation at the local, regional and international levels, and reinforced his commitment to upholding the vision and mission of the organisation through partnerships and collaborations. The Chairman said that the Zayed Foundation, founded under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, occupies a prominent place in the international environmental arena for its achievements in promoting environmental protection worldwide.
The visiting dignitaries were taken on a visit to the site of the ambitious One Million Trees initiative, which aims to increase green areas in Dubai through afforestation.
Elaborating on Rwanda’s proactive approach in nation building where green growth and climate resilience strategies are integrated, Ambassador H.E Emmanuel Hategeka also highlighted the country’s achievements in reforestation, agro-forestry, and tree-planting drives, and drew attention to the ongoing efforts in developing an innovative circular economy.
The Rwandan Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Zayed Foundation for hosting the delegation and reaffirmed commitment to cementing ties in areas of mutual interest.
